Returning from Summer

As we return from summer, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on one year of the Space Partnership. Since its launch, the Partnership has united industry, RTOs, academia, and institutions around shared objectives, strengthening Europe’s capacity for space innovation and competitiveness.

Over the past year, several key milestones have marked our progress. A central moment was the SRIA Update Outreach Event in June, which brought together nearly 100 participants across two days, representing SMEs, midcaps, large industry, research organisations, universities, associations, and institutional actors. The event showcased the Partnership’s achievements under Horizon Europe, updated stakeholders on the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), and opened valuable discussions on how to tackle upcoming challenges. Above all, it reinforced our goal of fostering cohesion and a strong sense of community across the European space sector.

Other milestones included consolidating priorities for Horizon Europe, advancing dialogue with the Commission and stakeholders, and launching the collection of additional activities and recommendations to prepare for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). These steps ensure that the Partnership continues to demonstrate impact while preparing for the future.
Looking ahead, the highlight of this autumn will be the Consultation Workshop on 22 October.

This single-day event will focus on two strategic themes:
• Earth Observation & Satellite Communication – defining competitiveness and innovation needs for Europe’s future missions and services.
• New Space Transportation Systems (NSTS) – identifying opportunities to strengthen Europe’s role in an evolving global launch landscape.

This workshop will be a cornerstone for aligning stakeholders and refining the detailed contents of the SRIA, ensuring that it reflects both evolving priorities and Europe’s long-term ambitions.
