A Platform for Open Collaboration – Join the Space Partnership (GCSS) Consultations

The SPACE AISBL website is more than just an information hub—it is a platform designed to facilitate open collaboration within the European space community. Through the Consultation Page, stakeholders from across the industry—including large corporations, SMEs, research institutions, and public bodies—can easily access opportunities to contribute to the future of European space programs.

Why Participate in the Consultations?

The GCSS Partnership consultations offer a unique opportunity for all interested parties to engage in the policymaking process, ensuring that their perspectives and expertise shape upcoming space research and innovation programs. The consultation process is built on three key pillars:

  • Open to All: Registration is open to anyone interested, promoting transparency and inclusivity across the European space ecosystem.
  • Centralized Information: The website serves as a single point of reference for all GCSS Partnership consultation activities, making it easier for participants to stay informed and engaged.
  • Direct Impact on Policy: The consultations serve as the official channel for structured input into the European Commission’s Horizon Europe space funding priorities, ensuring that industry needs are well represented in future calls.

Understanding the Consultation Process

Consultations within the GCSS Partnership are designed to gather input from stakeholders on critical areas of European space research and innovation. Key focus areas include:

  • Earth Observation – Advancing new capabilities and applications for environmental monitoring, climate research, and security.
  • Satellite Communications – Enhancing Europe’s competitiveness in secure, high-speed, and resilient connectivity solutions.
  • New Space Transportation Systems – Supporting the next generation of launch services and in-orbit transportation capabilities.

By participating in these consultations, stakeholders can help define the priorities of the 2026-27 Work Programme, ensuring that European space initiatives align with industry challenges and opportunities.

What’s Next?

Following the most recent consultation round, the first draft of the Call 2026-27 document has been submitted to the European Commission. This draft integrates the key priorities identified by stakeholders during workshops and discussions. However, the process remains ongoing, and additional input will be crucial as the final funding priorities take shape.

By continuing to engage in consultations, participants play an active role in advocating for an ambitious and competitive European space sector. The insights gathered will help shape future funding decisions, ensuring that investments in space research and innovation align with Europe’s strategic objectives.
